Reggae-dancehall and Afro-fusion artiste, TY Rolly returns with an inspiring new single titled ‘Higher,’ a powerful drill-dancehall record that reflects his life journey, struggles and determination to rise above challenges. Listen here: https://ditto.fm/higher-ty-rolly

Tracing his roots to the Volta Region, specifically Adaklu in the Ho District, TY Rolly’s musical journey began in 2014 when he discovered his passion for music. However, it was in 2020 that he decided to pursue music professionally, dedicating himself fully to building his sound and identity as an artiste.

TY Rolly first introduced himself to audiences with his debut single ‘Your Hand’ in 2022, followed by ‘Diana’ featuring Gabi Ace in 2023.

Continuing to build momentum, he released two more singles in 2024: ‘Ebi We’ and ‘Overdose (Yaa Baby)’, before dropping ‘Memories’ in 2025, further showcasing his evolving artistry and storytelling.

Now with ‘Higher,’ TY Rolly delivers what he describes as a street anthem inspired by the realities of life. The song blends drill rhythms with dancehall influences, creating a motivational sound that resonates with young people navigating the pressures and uncertainties of life. On the record, TY Rolly reflects on the struggles, pain, and progress that have shaped his journey so far.

The song carries a strong message: life is not easy, but everyone must learn how to keep pushing forward. Through his lyrics, he reminds listeners that failing to achieve certain goals or plans does not make anyone lazy, sometimes the journey itself is the lesson.

‘Higher’ also captures TY Rolly’s unwavering mindset. With his eyes set on growth and success, he declares that nothing can stop him from striving to bring out the best version of himself. With its relatable message, street appeal, and energetic fusion of drill and dancehall, ‘Higher’ positions TY Rolly as an emerging voice determined to motivate and uplift the youth through music.

As he continues to rise, TY Rolly remains committed to telling real stories through his sound, stories of resilience, ambition and the relentless pursuit of going higher.
