The divorce dispute between businessman Richard Nii Armah Quaye and his ex-wife, Joana Coffie, has escalated, with both parties’ legal teams exchanging statements over claims arising from the case.
The issue came into focus after Quaye’s appearance on the Delay Show, where he spoke about their marriage and divorce.
In response, Joana Coffie’s lawyers, led by Godfred Yeboah Dame, issued a press release presenting what they described as documented evidence of her role in building Quaye’s business.
The lawyers stated that Coffie and Quaye jointly established Quick Credit & Investment Micro-Credit Company Limited in 2011, shortly after their marriage, citing court records.
On Tuesday, April 28, Sory & Partners, lawyers for Quaye, responded, disputing several of the claims.
They rejected assertions that Quaye was unemployed and had no property after returning from the United Kingdom in 2009, describing the claim as inconsistent with a High Court judgment.
They also said matters relating to the shareholding of Quick Credit & Investment Micro-Credit Company Limited are not part of the issues before the court in the divorce proceedings.
On allegations of physical abuse, Sory & Partners denied that Quaye ever assaulted Coffie, referencing a High Court decision dated November 27, 2025, which upheld a submission of no case.
The firm also dismissed claims that Quaye obstructed justice, describing the allegation as unjustified.
