Highlife artiste Ben Brako disclosed that the fear of growing old with regrets pushed him to fully pursue music and begin recording his famous Baya album.
Speaking in an interview with Samuel Attah-Mensah on Footprint, the highlife musician reflected on the major life decision that changed the course of his career.
According to Ben Brako, before stepping fully into music, he was deeply involved in the corporate world, working in shipping and commodities. However, despite the stability of the job, he said he felt unfulfilled.
“I found that I wasn’t getting the satisfaction that I wanted in my life,” he shared.
The veteran singer explained that the thought of abandoning his musical passion haunted him, especially whenever he imagined himself growing old without trying.
“I was scared that if I didn’t do my music, I would regret it when I’m an old man,” he stated.
Determined to follow his dream, Ben Brako disclosed that he eventually left Ghana for England to start afresh.
According to him, relocating gave him the freedom and fresh environment he needed to focus entirely on music.
“I had a clean slate. So that’s why I was able to do my music and start recording and all that,” he added.
