Media personality George Quaye has stated that event organisers should not be blamed for what celebrities choose to wear on red carpets.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on Tuesday, May 12, George Quaye argued that criticism over outfits worn at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) should be directed at the individuals and their stylists rather than the event organisers.
He further defended the organisers, saying they cannot be held responsible for personal fashion decisions made by attendees.
“How are you now blaming Edem for what George Quaye decided to wear? Somebody said Dr. Likey dressed like he was going to the washing bay. How’s that Charterhouse’s problem?” he defended.
George noted that if people are unhappy with outfits displayed on the red carpet, the blame should fall on the celebrities and designers involved.
“If you are uncomfortable with what people wore to the event, fight the people. Sometimes we also ought to learn to know where to put the blame,” he added.
He also challenged Ghanaian fashion designers to take advantage of high-profile platforms like the TGMA to market their brands by dressing celebrities for exposure.
