Kuami Eugene has disclosed that he is financially sound enough to survive if he decides to quit music today.
Speaking in an interview with Headless YouTuber, the award-winning singer explained that the income he earns from music features, publishing, and performance rights is enough to sustain both him and his family.
According to Kuami Eugene, the royalties from songs he has featured on alone are enough to take care of his mother.
“Yes, so right now as I dey here, if I say I’m not going to sing again, the features alone can take care of my mom. One day if I’m not there, my features alone, my mum is okay.”
The “Angela” hitmaker also opened up about his current financial arrangement with Lynx Entertainment following his exit from the label.
He disclosed that although the label still owns the masters to some of the projects they funded during his time there, he continues to receive a share of the revenue generated from the music.
“So it’s 50-50 with everything I make. Everything I worked on with them, because they own the masters,” he explained.
Kuami Eugene further noted that while Lynx Entertainment retains a percentage of some projects, it does not control his intellectual property rights entirely. He added that earnings from performance rights and publishing continue to generate steady income for him.
The singer’s comments have sparked online conversations about music ownership, royalties, and the importance of intellectual property rights for artists in Ghana’s music industry.
