Multiple award-winning Ghanaian UK-based gospel musician Sonnie Badu has disclosed that his parents narrowly escaped a devastating house fire that destroyed their family home.
In a Facebook post sighted by GhanaWeekend on Saturday, May 16, the gospel minister disclosed that he had a vivid dream about a house engulfed in flames days before the incident occurred.

According to him, the dream prompted him to repeatedly warn his wife about the dangers of fire and the need to protect their children, only to later realise the burning house he saw belonged to his parents.
Sonnie Badu recounted that while preaching during a church service, he noticed several missed calls from his father’s phone and immediately stepped aside to return the call.
He said his mother answered and thanked God for sparing their lives before disclosing that their house had caught fire while they were asleep.
“The house, which held over 20 years of memories, was reduced to ashes,” he shared.

Despite the loss, the musician expressed gratitude that no lives were lost and announced plans to rebuild the house within six months.
He also appealed to architects and builders in Ghana to support the reconstruction project.
“God’s faithfulness is a testament to His goodness, and I’m trusting Him to guide us through this challenging time,” he wrote.
