Award-winning dancehall artiste Shatta Wale is seeking a strategic partnership with the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) to promote locally made jewellery on the international stage ahead of the upcoming ShattaFest UK.
The musician says the collaboration would spotlight Ghanaian craftsmanship while creating new opportunities to grow the country’s creative economy by linking music, fashion and culture with the gold industry.
Shatta Wale made the proposal during a visit to the Ghana Gold Board, where he was accompanied by rapper Medikal and members of his management team. The meeting explored possible areas of collaboration ahead of ShattaFest UK, one of the artiste’s major international events.
According to Shatta Wale, the initiative is aimed at using his global platform to project Ghana-made jewellery to audiences beyond the country’s borders while supporting local manufacturers and artisans.
Medikal also backed the proposal, arguing that Ghana’s music industry has the reach to become a powerful marketing tool for locally produced gold and jewellery.
He noted that musicians can showcase Ghanaian brands through music videos, concerts and other international appearances, helping increase global visibility for products made in the country.
Responding to the proposal, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, pledged the Board’s support for Shatta Wale and the upcoming ShattaFest UK.
He described the dancehall star as a global ambassador whose influence can help promote Ghanaian gold, locally manufactured jewellery and the country’s image to international audiences.
The Ghana Gold Board says partnerships with influential figures in the creative industry are central to its broader strategy of positioning Ghanaian gold and locally made jewellery as globally recognised brands while expanding market opportunities for the sector.
