Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has been announced as a headliner for the 2026 Hogbetsotso Festival.
Stonebwoy is billed to perform at Lalana Beach in Anloga on Saturday, November 7, at 8 pm, the night of the grand durbar.
This year marks the 64th Hogbetsotso Za, celebrated under the theme “Anlo, our heritage and our values: Striving to build one Ghana for a better tomorrow.”
Hogbetsotso commemorates the escape of Anlo-Ewes from the tyrannical rule of King Togbe Agorkoli in Notsie, present-day Togo, by softening the mud wall surrounding the town and walking backwards to confuse their pursuers.
Celebrations started on September 22 with clean-ups, school engagements, and fora and will climax with the grand durbar at Anloga on Saturday, November 7.
Over the years, entertainment events have become a major part of Hogbetsotso to keep the festival relevant for the youth while preserving core traditions.
