Contrary to incessant complaints from Ghanaian gospel musicians for the church’s lack of support, Joel Lwaga reveals Tanzanian churches are supporting their musicians.
Initially, it was easier for the churches to pay more to bring artists from outside to Tanzania; four or five times more, but the musician disclosed that many churches in Tanzania are trying to do something to support their gospel musicians.
“But now, churches are also there to support. It is easier for the churches to support them (gospel musicians),” he reveals.
Tanzania gospel minister, Joel Lwaga in an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Ghana Weekend TV YouTube channel explained the gospel is in the transition period in Tanzania.
He added that with the right strategy, support largely comes from companies and individuals.
“The awareness is coming up now and they are now supporting. Not that much but we are taking steps,” he added.
Joel Lwaga explained his fellowships with the New Testament Ministry, a small church in Tanzania, but was satisfied with the support he is receiving from his church.
“I also have relationships with other pastors who are always there to support and my events,” Joel told Kwame Dadzie.
The Tanzanian gospel musician who hinted at a collaboration with the Ghanaian gospel musician Celestine Donkor, this year released “Usipigane” which urges believers to leave their battles to God and go to rest.
