One of Ghana’s finest voice coaches, Freeman Daniel Ame has written an article to guide people who use their voice for various activities like singing and voiceovers.

In a Facebook post, he wrote:

3 VOICE TRAINING SECRETS THAT CAN QUICKLY TRANSFORM YOUR VOICE FROM AVERAGE TO PRO

If you are undertaking any kind of vocal training, but you are struggling to get results, it’s either you have an underlying challenge that needs to be fixed for you to be able to flow more easily, for example, breath control or management-related challenges can hinder any kind of development until they are addressed.

So please get a vocal diagnosis to ascertain the vocal challenges you have so that you can start taking the right kind of voice training you require.

Another thing that can hinder rapid development through voice training is if you are mistaking vocal exercises for voice training techniques and/or doing it wrong.

Listen, a lot of the free content on social media being peddled as ‘voice training’ materials are nothing but vocal exercises designed to only warm and stretch your vocal muscles and nothing more;

The other challenge is that they also l come with inherent dangers; cos’ if you apply them wrongly then you may be hurting your voice rather than helping it.

Getting yourself a voice coach is wiser if you want to keep a long professional career in the industry, consider it an #investment that often turns out to be a blessing in the long term.

The asset of a good artist is the ability to maintain a healthy singing register.

The third reason I have come to identify as a bummer that affects the quick development of vocal students/artists is the lack of personal practice routines.

I often tell my artists/students that it’s not what I do with you while #training you that does the magic, but what you do with what I give you during training.

If you are not applying, practicing, experimenting and revising what you are learning, then you are not going to see much development;

However, if you are, you will begin to see results quickly and realise many things that will cause you to engage your voice coach more practically, which will then convert into a healthy personal development that often yields plenty of amazing results.

I hope this helps some of you who have been struggling with vocal training?
