Gospel artist Joyce Blessing is thrilled with the success of her latest song, “Victory” but she is disappointed by the attempts of some in the gospel music community to dismiss her work because it was written by Kuami Eugene, a secular artist.
Joyce Blessing’s song’s critics argued that Kuami Eugene lacks the spiritual discernment to write a gospel song.
In a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz, Joyce Blessing who strongly disagrees with this judgment argued that such discrimination against secular musicians only causes division and disunity.
She pointed out that God is the creator of all talents, and that no one should be denied the opportunity to use their gifts for good.
The gospel songstress also questioned whether those who criticize her song only patronize products made by Christians.
She asked if they owned cars, for example, and if they knew whether or not the people who manufactured those cars were Christians.
“I don’t want to pay attention to such criticism because it only breeds division in the music industry.”
