Ghanaian media personality Gloria Akpene Nyarku, widely known as MzGee, has confirmed her divorce from broadcast journalist Raymond Acquah of the Multimedia Group Ltd.
In a video shared on her social media and spotted by Ghanaweekend.com, MzGee disclosed that she and Raymond Acquah have been separated for three years and legally divorced for the past two years.
“My name is Gloria Akpene Nyarku. I have no documentation that bears the name Acquah. I understand this might come as a surprise because, at one point, I was married to Raymond Acquah. However, we have been separated for three years and officially divorced for two. There are no ties between us,” she stated.
Though the former couple initially kept their split private, MzGee revealed that she felt compelled to clarify the situation due to the presence of a child in her life.
“I wouldn’t have addressed this because my private life is nobody’s business. However, with a child involved, I want to ensure there is no confusion about his paternity. I have no ties whatsoever to Raymond Acquah,” she emphasised.
MzGee also urged the public and media to respect her identity and stop associating her with her ex-husband.
“I see that people still link us together. Perhaps you didn’t know, and that’s okay. But let me be clear—my name is Gloria Akpene Nyarku, no Acquah attached. Please, let the gentleman breathe,” she added.
