Media personality Abdul Karim, popularly known as Nana Romeo, has officially joined the renowned Despite Media Group as the new host of the celebrated drive-time radio show Ekwanso Dwoodwoo on Okay 101.7 FM.
The announcement, which Romeo made through an Instagram post, marks a significant milestone in his broadcasting career.
This follows his resignation from Accra FM. In an Instagram post on Friday May 30, he expressed immense excitement about his new role, describing it as an “honour” and a “thrilling” step forward.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, I am honored and thrilled to share that I have joined DESPITE MEDIA as the new host of the famous drive-time show Ekwanso Dwoodwoo on OKAY 101.7 FM,” he wrote. “This new role is an exciting step in my career, and I’m thrilled to join forces with the existing dynamic team to serve our cherished listeners.”
Nana Romeo, known for his charisma and vibrant on-air presence, has previously hosted high-profile shows on other networks and is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the long-running program, which remains a favourite among many Ghanaians during the evening rush hour.
He extended heartfelt gratitude to those who have supported his journey, including his family, friends, former employers, and fans. Romeo also offered special thanks to the leadership of Despite Media, singling out Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, Mr. Kennedy Osei, and Dr. Fadda Dickson for entrusting him with the opportunity.
