Head of News at Channel One TV/Citi FM, Vivian Kai Lokko, has stressed the importance of time management and comprehensive storytelling in today’s fast-paced media landscape.
According to her, time management was crucial in meeting newsroom deadlines without compromising quality.
She made this remark during an insightful and interactive lecture to some Level 300 journalism students of the University of Media, Arts and Communication – Institute of Journalism (UniMAC-IJ) in Accra on Thursday, July 10.
The Head of News at Channel One TV/Citi FM encouraged students to master the art of working effectively to produce impactful stories.

Mrs. Lokko also introduced the students to the concept of a “360 story”—a well-rounded report that covers every angle of an issue.
She advised aspiring journalists to go beyond the surface by:
* Speaking to all relevant parties involved in a story,
* Seeking out exclusive details that make their report stand out, and
* Using limited time effectively to craft compelling and balanced narratives.
“Even with little time, a journalist can tell a powerful story that captures all sides,” Mrs. Lokko added.
The lecture was highly interactive, with students actively participating in discussions and asking relevant questions.
Mrs. Lokko’s practical examples and open dialogue created a dynamic learning atmosphere that resonated well with the class.

On behalf of the class, Francisca Ewe expressed heartfelt appreciation to Mrs Lokko for her time, mentorship, and impactful presentation.
The session, initiated by In-Depth Journalism lecturer Desmond Lamptey, formed part of ongoing efforts to connect classroom learning with professional newsroom realities. Students warmly received Mrs. Lokko’s practical insights, with many describing her advice as both inspiring and immediately applicable to their journalism journey.
