The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts has refuted allegations circulating online about the conduct and professionalism of the Sector Minister, Abla Dzifa Gomashie describing them as “gravely misleading” and “wholly unfounded.”
In a statement sighted by Ghana Weekend on Tuesday August 5, 2024, the Ministry addressed what it termed a “false narrative” which painted the Minister as disrespectful and unprofessional.
The Ministry insisted the claims were a deliberate attempt to distort the public’s perception of a leader who had remained committed to serving the nation with humility and dedication.
The statement reads “The regrettable attempt to tarnish this reputation undermines not only the Minister but also the hard work of the entire Ministry and all who serve the creative sector with pride.”
According to the Ministry, the minister’s engagements with industry stakeholders and the broader public has always been marked by mutual respect, transparency, and a strong commitment to promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage.
It described the attacks as “sensationalism over truth,” warning the public against giving credence to individuals who exploit social media platforms to gain attention at the expense of public trust.
The Ministry further emphasised its openness to constructive feedback further announcing that it will not tolerate falsehoods that seek to divide and distract.
Calling for accountability, the Director of the Ministry has demanded an unqualified apology from the individual behind the allegations, stating that the defamatory claims not only malign the Minister but also cast a shadow over the tireless efforts of public servants within the creative arts sector.
As the Ministry continues its work to promote and preserve Ghana’s tourism, cultural identity, and creative legacy, it is urging all well-meaning Ghanaians to support its mission and reject attempts to erode public confidence through misinformation.
