A federal case involving rapper Pooh Shiesty has emerged as one of the music industry’s most serious recent crime stories.
Prosecutors allege that after a contract dispute with Gucci Mane, Shiesty lured him to a supposed business meeting in Dallas in January 2026, where he and eight others carried out a violent kidnapping and robbery inside a recording studio.
Authorities say the group forced Gucci Mane to sign contract termination papers at gunpoint while other victims were assaulted and robbed.
The case quickly unravelled due to extensive digital evidence, including Shiesty’s ankle monitor, phone data, surveillance footage, licence plate readers, and hotel records, all placing the suspects at the scene and tracking their movements across states.
All nine men have been charged with federal kidnapping and conspiracy, facing potential life sentences if convicted.
Investigators say the case highlights how modern technology can decisively piece together crimes, leaving little room for dispute.
