Hip-hop artiste Kweku Smoke has publicly expressed gratitude to rap icon Sarkodie, crediting the award-winning musician with helping him build a legitimate music career.
In a post shared on X, Kweku Smoke uploaded a photo of Sarkodie with a heartfelt yet humorous message, suggesting that the rapper’s mentorship steered him away from a life of crime.
“My lord, God bless you. If uno show me work, like by now FBI carry me,” he wrote.
Although seemingly light-hearted, the post has been widely interpreted as an acknowledgement of Sarkodie’s influence in helping him focus on music instead of engaging in illegal activities that could have landed him in trouble with law enforcement.
The message comes at a time when the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have intensified efforts against cybercrime and internet fraud, leading to the arrest and extradition of several Ghanaian nationals accused of defrauding victims in the United States.
Kweku Smoke’s tribute also follows his recent musical collaboration with Sarkodie. The two joined forces on ‘Violence,’ a track released after Kweku Smoke won his first-ever honours at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
Their partnership has been well-received by fans, with many praising the chemistry between the two rappers and celebrating the mutual respect they continue to show each other both on and off the microphone.
