Jamaican reggae artiste Fantan Mojah has died at the age of 49, just weeks before his 50th birthday.
According to reports, the singer, born Owen Moncrieffe, died on Tuesday [July 14] evening at the University Hospital of the West Indies in Kingston after suffering heart-related complications.
Fantan Mojah rose to prominence with spiritually inspired reggae music rooted in Rastafarian teachings and social commentary.
He was widely known for songs including Rasta Got Soul, Stronger and Nuh Build Great Men.
The reggae star was reportedly preparing to perform at this year’s Reggae Jam Festival in Germany before his health deteriorated.
