Have you thought about how within a short period the coronavirus pandemic has changed human lives and activities?
The restrictions established across the world to ensure the disease does not spread, have activated various thinking processes and new ways of doing things.
While some people abhor the fact that this has taken away our freedoms, there’s also no gainsaying the positive sides to the measures.
In Ghana, prior to the three-week partial lockdown, there was a ban on social gatherings – something which still persists after the lockdown was lifted.
But if we should maintain some of the practices coronavirus has brought human beings across the globe, which ones would you go for?
I did a small poll on my Facebook timeline and it was clear that some people have spotted some positives in this unfortunate situation.
I have summarised ten (10) for your perusal.
(1). Periodically sharing of food, free water, and free electricity so the underprivileged will not be over-burdened.
(2). Staying at home if you have nothing important to do in town
(3). A total lockdown on the movement of people probably, once a year to help mother earth replenish herself and help families bond.
(4). Washing of hands under running water with soap and hands sanitizing.
(5). Providing Veronica buckets and soap at vantage points for hand wash. (6). Working from home when necessary. Not every worker needs to physically be at the office.
(7). Worshipping God from home.
(8). Frequent cleaning and disinfection of our markets.
(9). We should continue producing our own sanitizers and PPEs
(10). Social distancing at social gatherings including ‘trotro’ or public transport.
