Kwame Dadzie’s rant: Why Aisha Modi’s ‘philanthropic relationship’ with Stonebwoy is dangerous!

Who one decides to be friends with, should not be the headache of an ordinary entertainment journalist like me who has achieved nothing for myself and the entertainment industry.

Typically, I should rather find some ‘sobolo’ to sip on or get some good music to binge on, than worry about a philanthropist who has decided to serve her unflinching love to a very successful artiste.

But I have something to say. Hard as I have tried not to write this article, I get the inkling that God will not forgive me if I let it slide. The repercussions of this piece, I know – but ‘does I care’? ‘Histrionically’, no!

Aisha Modi, from all indications, really has the entertainment industry at hearts. This is evident in what she claims she has done for the likes of Obrafuor, Ofori Amponsah, KK Fosu, Samini, OV and other artistes.

As an industry yearning to have individuals and corporate bodies invest in its activities, it is commendable that she is charting this path.

She recently reiterated on the Delay Show that she invested about $ 45, 000 into Obrafour’s album that had the ‘Kasiebo’ song, ‘Asem Beba Dabi’, but got nothing in return.

When Delay asked if she was a groupie, she declined but honestly, I don’t see Aisha as someone interested in doing show business. She is a stan – somebody who just takes pride in getting closer to popular people. She’s a groupie! Delay got it right.

My worry is also how she quickly switches camps – her unfettered loyalty to artistes that goads her on to despise people who have issues with her favourites artistes.

First, it started with when Kelvnboy was attacked at Ashaiman when he was invited to perform at the launch of the Samsung branch at the town. Aisha went berserk at Kelvynboy (Stonebwoy’s protege) and Black Cedi because people had suggested the attack could have been engineered by Stonebwoy.

She made a lot of allegations about the Kelvynboy and Black Cedi – things that put them in a bad light. considering their sour relationships with Stonebwoy.

Recently, when Stonebwoy hit Sarkodie’s manager in the eye at the Black Star Square during a recording session of BlackLove Virtual Concert, Aisha went on a ranting spree to insult Sarkodie and his manager.

After saying Stonebwoy never hit Sarkodie’s manager, Angel, Stonebwoy later came out to admit his wrongdoing and apologised.

In fact, Aisha has spoken to issues concerning Stonebwoy, giving out secrets and details that keep one wondering if Stonebwoy is really happy with how she communicates on behalf of his brand.

Aisha Modi has admitted that she is very close to Stonebwoy and his family. She is not just a fan. She supports Stonebwoy’s work, buys her own tickets to watch the Bhim Nation President perform abroad, so I understand why it will be difficult for Stonebwoy to shut her up. It will be prudent for him to do so, regardless.

My fear is that, just as Aisha fell out from Obrafour, Ofori Amponsah, KK Fosu, Samini and the like, she might soon do same to Stonebwoy. You need no prophet to predict this from the benefit of hindsight.

Gradually, she is weakening the PR machinery with her ‘I love Stonebwoy’ talks.

Music is a real business! Not an avenue for zealous fans to showcase their emotional intelligence under the guise of showing loyalty to a brand.

She does not need to come out to insult people who have issues with Stonebwoy to prove she loves him. Because of her closeness to Stonebwoy and his family, some of these utterances are taken to be an indirect endorsement from Stonebwoy himself.

I personally love the Stonebwoy brand and I think he needs a better PR machinery that will clear all the mess Aisha has been creating with her rants.

In as much as I appreciate Aisha generosity to artistes, I believe she does not do that for free. I know the role she played in buying a car for Agiecoat Music. I am also aware of her contribution to the payment of the hospital bills for a victim of an okada accident in Dodowa recently.

All the association she gets with these artistes earn her some clout, prominence and plugs for whatever she desires to have.

If care is not taken, Stonebwoy is going to suffer dearly from his relationship with Aisha than he would have imagined.

Muse over this: why did she fall out with all the afore-mentioned artistes?
