Ghanaian comedian Funny Face has been in the news lately following what can be described as a ‘meltdown’ and rant about the mother of his twin children.

This isn’t the first time a situation like this has happened. Ghanaweekend.com alone has more than 5 stories about Funny face in relation to him talking about his mental health.

On October 22, 2020, Ghanaweekend.com posted a story about Funny face looking to stage a comedy show on how he has dealt with depression, there is a story about him trying to commit suicide, and on numerous occasions, he has asked his fans to remember him in prayers.

Is Funny Face on the verge of a mental breakdown? Is he covering up his depression with comedy? Or is he actually screaming for help with his constant rants and meltdowns?

Depression is classified as a mood disorder. It may be described as feelings of sadness, loss, or anger that interfere with a person’s everyday activities.

People experience depression in different ways. It may interfere with your daily work, resulting in lost time and lower productivity. It can also influence relationships and some chronic health conditions.

Depression is considered a serious medical condition that can get worse without proper treatment.

Those who seek treatment often see improvements in symptoms in just a few weeks.

With this in mind, here are a few ways Funny face can over depression.

Talk to a therapist

Talking to a therapist about depression is like seeing a physical therapist after a serious leg injury. If Funny face wants to get the best advice possible, he needs to see an expert.

Remember, therapy isn’t about crying or pointless complaining; it’s about learning what’s underlying your depression, developing new skills for managing the stuff that life throws at us, and working toward improving and enjoying your life.

When it comes to depression, there is no substitute for seeking professional help – if he feels depressed, he needs to connect with a therapist as soon as possible. It’s that straightforward.

Express yourself

As much as it may seem like Funny face is screaming for help, expressing one’s self or in his case, ranting is a good way to actually heal and let go of the hurt and the pain.

With depression, a person’s creativity and sense of fun may seem blocked. He can also engage in activities that are personal to him and make him happy.

He could also take time to play with a friend or a pet, or do something fun for himself.

Build a Support Network

One of the most important things you can do to help yourself with depression—other than medication and therapy—is to develop strong social support.

Funny face may need to forge stronger ties or create a stronger bond with people who will actually look out for him and his mental health.

Knowing you can count on supportive loved ones to help can go a long way toward improving your depression.

Living with depression can be difficult, but treatment can help improve your quality of life. If you feel depressed, it’s best to do something about it — depression doesn’t just go away on its own.
