I don’t have time to do a diss song for Guru – Kwame Eugene

Ghanaian serial hit-making artiste, Eugene Kwame Marfo known by his stage name, Kuami Eugene has responded to critics who claim his lyrics on the Kweku Darlington’s hit song Sika Aba Fie remix where a dig at Guru.

Guru and Kuami Eugene became a hot topic after Kwame Eugene disclosed that he won’t collaborate with the ‘Nkwaada Nkwaada’ rapper because he disrespected Richie Mensah, his boss. Guru took offense and wrote a letter to Kuami Eugene that went viral and even attracted a reply from Richie Mensah.

The high Life legendary went on to release a diss track for Kuami Eugene and his Lynx Entertainment crew.

Kwame Eugen’s mention of Maradona in his lyrics, which is coincidentally the real name of Guru caused people to believe this was a response to his diss track but in an interview on the EBN network, Kwame Eugene stated that his lyrics had nothing to do with Guru.

“I dont have the time to go and make songs abput people. It is just a coincidence so I get why people might think that but if you love football you will know that there was a football legend called Maradona. He used his hands to score a goal which is against the rules of football but because there was no VAR at the time, he got away with it.”

“So when I made the statement ‘Maradona wɔ adwen fi’ in my song, this was what I meant but people have misconstrued it and created a problem where there is none. The lyrics were about me not someone else,” he added.

In response to whether or not he would ever feature Guru on a track, Kwame Eugene stated that if his label ever wanted a feature between the two of them it would happen because he isn’t working alone.
