Ghanaian comedian, Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, aka Funny Face, has said that he intends to write a book about depression.
The comedian who appeared on stage for the first time after 10 years, said the depression moment he went through recently has really changed his life.
Performing at Lekzy DeComic’s ‘Too Cute to be Mute’ comedy show at the National Theatre on Friday September 30, 2022, he said he will be writing a book about the depression he went through.
“This thing I have been though, I will write a book from it, I will do a movie from it, I will sing from it, I am about to go on a mental health tour to talk to students about mental health,” he said.
Funny Face, for the past few years had been battling depression and other mental health issues.
His public outburst about his relationship issues with his baby mama Vanessa Nicole, his wanton display of aggression raised eyebrows.
After being arrested for brandishing guns and threatening to take his life, he was later sent to the psychiatry for treatment.
His recovery from the situation has been described by many as heartwarming development.
Patrons of the ‘Too Cute to be Mute’ comedy show were left in stitches when Funny Face mounted the stage, as he explored the comic side of his experience with depression.
Other people that performed at the show are Lekzy DeComic, General Ntatia, Alowess, Papa Yaw, Kwame Obed, T Kay, Kojo Pjay and Comedian Warris.
