Reigning Miss Akwaaba of University of Media, Arts and Communication – Institute of Journalism (UniMAC-IJ), Diana Naa Adjeley Adjei, has shared insights into her journey since being crowned on February 24, 2024, highlighting her personal growth, cultural appreciation, and newfound opportunities.
In an interview with Ghana Weekend on Saturday May 17, Diana emphasised the deeper meaning of her role beyond beauty.
“From the moment I was crowned, I felt a profound responsibility to represent not just beauty but also purpose,” she stated, stressing her commitment to making an impact.
She revealed that winning the prestigious title has opened doors in media, public speaking, and connections with influential personalities.
“Winning the Miss Akwaaba title has also opened doors in the media, leading to public speaking opportunities and connections with influential personalities,” she shared.
Reflecting on key milestones in her reign, Diana noted her achievement as first runner-up for Miss Akwaaba Ghana 2024 and her tour of South Africa, where she met Mrs. Juliet Asantewaa, CEO of the African Cinema Summit, and the South African High Commissioner.
Her accomplishments extend beyond pageantry, earning her recognition as a youth advocate at the Ghana Cake Awards and a role in Sammy Flex Entertainment’s film, *Broken Desire*.
“I am also the brand ambassador for Earlyfest,” she added, expressing gratitude for the opportunities her title has brought her.
The UniMAC-IJ Miss Akwaaba pageant, held annually, continues to serve as a platform for students to showcase both their talents and cultural pride.
