An aspiring journalist who auditioned for GhOne TV’s “The Next TV Star” and got busted for cyber-bullying media personalities has taken to Twitter to narrate his side of the story.
According to the young man, known on Twitter as Journalist Albert, he was nearly slapped at the premises of the media organization shortly after his activities on Twitter were revealed during his audition.
However, in his latest tweet, Albert claims he was harassed after his cover was blown. He narrated his story in 20 statements, titled, “The fact of the matter.”
Read the full tweet below:
1 . I went for Next Tv Star auditions at the studios of GhOne TV behind the SU TOWERS, Ridge Accra
2. Registered after I had paid GHc10 just like every other person.
3. Got there at 8am but had to meet the judges around 4:30 PM. Obviously, the numbers were high.
4. Finally appeared before the three judges: Serwaa Amihere, Nana Aba Anamoah and Bridget
5. I answered “I am a blogger” after I was asked “What do you do”
6. Immediately, I felt things were going to get messier for me. I saw it on their taces
7. Former tweets I had made were retrieved, I was questioned.
8. I didn’t take a defensive stance. But I did say “I speak fact” as a reposted to an earlier comment made by the judges that “so you’re the blogger who has been writing those things about us?”
9. There, the discussion switched from auditioning to roasting. I couldn’t speak as eloquently as I should because it was me against the three.
10. Thence, other crew members, workers and observers had trooped in to the studio to watch me. The pressure was too heavy for me to shoulder.
11 . Then, I was chastised, berated, called “crap” and told to walk out.
12. As I left the stage, I was confronted by a woman who retorted snarlingly: “you couldn’t even apologise?” Then she vehemently said “get out, get out, get out.”13. By then, I was highly infuriated. So I told her “madam, please you can’t talk to me like that.”
14. Well, that was the last straw that broke the camel’s back. She attempted to slap me, got restricted. Was left loose, then she grabbed what looked like a camera stand and starting chasing me.
15. 1 made it to the reception hall unscathed. Descended the stairs hurriedly. Two pursuing guys shouted aloud “stand there, catch him”. Some women sympathetically urged: “run run run run”.
16. I took to my heels. I run out of the forecourt. Then I was given a hot chase by one of the two guys.
17. They started shouting “thief, catch him
catch him” when they realised I was out of reach.
18. At this point, I sensed my life was in a bit of danger so I ran across the road without looking, skipped a walk, jumped onto the Barnes road and hopped onto an okada.
19. I saw them retreat.
20. It was scary.
