A groundbreaking event aimed at spotlighting Ghanaian talent and positioning the country’s music on the global stage took place at La Petite Oiseau in Osu.
Dubbed AFROSON1C X, the initiative aspires to be a festival that recognizes and celebrates unique Ghanaian artists alongside a music industry conference that brings the global music industry to Ghana.
The event featured opening and closing remarks that laid out the vision for AFROSON1C X as a platform to elevate and showcase local talent.
A major highlight was the announcement of the festival’s official debut in 2026. The announcement was made by Tom Russell and Y’akoto the owners who pledged to make the dream work.
An engaging open conversation followed, where every attendee had the opportunity to share their thoughts on how to put Ghanaian music on the global map.
This inclusive dialogue resonated deeply, with contributions from notable figures such as seasoned music producers and advocates Kofi Boachie-Ansah (IamBeatMenace) and Seven Xavier, media personality Olele Salvador, Ria Boss, pop star Sister Derby, and her brother, multi-talented musician Wanlov the Kubolor.
The star-studded gathering also included producers King of Accra and Mike Millz, along with sensational performers like, Haeven, Anabel Rose, Josh Blakk and URCH whose captivating performances elevated the atmosphere.
Set against the enchanting backdrop of Osu, the event blended creative discourse with eclectic hospitality, featuring welcome cocktails, grills, and finger foods that made for a memorable evening.
The organizers of AFROSON1C X have set an ambitious yet promising path. By fostering collaboration and providing a platform for Ghanaian artists, this initiative could well become a cornerstone in the Ghana’s cultural narrative.
It was a privilege to witness the launch of such a visionary project, which holds the promise of bringing Ghanaian music to a wider audience.
